We will miss you, Patti!
I was devastated this morning to hear about the demise of our beloved Patti, my grandmom-in-law. Several questions rose in my mind - why did she go away? Why so soon? Won't I see her again?
I'm not good with goodbyes, they rip me apart.
I still remember the first time I met Patti, it was years ago when I was in college. I was instantly smitten by her beaming eyes and her beautiful smile. Patti was light-eyed and extremely pretty, she was the 'star' of our house. I always missed my maternal grandmom dearly, I had lost her when I was in high school. When I met Patti I felt like I got my grandmom back. Patti was very kind, loving and gentle. Today as I lost my grandmom for a second time, I feel an irreplaceable void in my life.
But this obituary is not about mourning her demise, it's about celebrating her life, a life so well lived, so glorious, and so complete. Thank you Patti for all the love that you have bestowed upon all of us, you will always live in our memories, we will cherish every moment spent with you. You've lived a beautiful life on earth, and now we've lost you to the Angels in Heaven.
We will always love you and miss you, may your gentle soul rest in peace!
Quoting a few lines in Patti's memory.....
Meet You At The Gate
A beautiful garden now stands alone,
Missing the one who nurtured it,
But now she is gone,
Her flowers still bloom, and the sun still shines,
But the rain is like tear drops, for the ones left behind,
The weeds lay waiting to take the garden's beauty away,
But the beautiful memories of its keeper are in our hearts to stay,
She loved every flower even some that were weeds,
So much love she would plant with each little seed,
But just like her flowers she was part of God's plan,
So when it was her time He reached down His hand,
He looked through the garden searching for the best,
That's when He found her, it was her time to rest,
It was hard for those who loved her, to just let her go,
But God had a spot in His garden, that needed a gentle soul,
So when you start missing her, remember if you just wait,
When God has a spot in His garden, She'll meet you at the gate....
RIP!!
